SAC Therapist Eric Fogle Receives 2011 Servant's Heart Award
Eric S. Fogle was selected as the 2011 Servant's Heart Award winner at CNM's Salute to Excellence celebration on Tuesday, September 20th.
For 17 years Eric Fogle has provided therapeutic services to all SAC client types from preschool to the elderly, male and female. After working with more than 1,200 survivors, Eric remains passionate about ending sexual violence and helping clients heal from its devastating effects.
As an animal lover, Eric incorporates pet therapy into his work. He also leads groups for adult male sexual assault survivors and speaks to men’s community groups. Eric is seen as a mentor for therapists who are new to working with sexual assault victims. With an enduring ability to re frame anything into the positive, he focuses on others, self-care and the importance of having a happy team.
Eric’s optimism and joy are inspiring to those around him. One of Eric’s clients described him “as one of the true heroes in my life…Now I know that I am not a victim anymore – I am a survivor.”
The Erie Chapman Foundation Servant’s Heart Award was created to recognize individuals who are providing care and/or assistance to the clients of a nonprofit agency and who are on the “front lines” of the service profession. The intention of this award is to recognize individuals who demonstrate the qualities of a Servant’s Heart over time and not necessarily as the result of a single, heroic act.
