Volunteer Opportunities:
Community Education and Outreach Volunteers
Client Interaction: Limited
Community Member Interaction: Extensive
Training: Moderate training (5-15 hours)
Time available: Evening, some weekdays and weekend work
May include but is not limited to:
Giving pre-designed presentations; staffing a display table at community events; teaching community members about programs offered at SAC; clerical assistant with mailings, filings; etc.
Crisis Line Volunteers
Client Interaction: Extensive
Community Member Interaction: Moderate to extensive
Training: Extensive training (20+ hours)
Time available: Anytime, flexible to meet your schedule
May include but is not limited to:
Answering calls at home during a shift of your choice; providing support to victims and families by referring them to applicable services.
Special Projects – Groups are welcome
Client Interaction: Limited
Community Member Interaction: Moderate to extensive
Training: none
Schedule: Dependant on activities, could be virtual
May include but is not limited to:
Providing special services that the Center would normally have to pay for, such as photography, data entry, filing, mailings, receptionist duties (answering the phone and greeting clients), calling donors, assistance coordinating fundraising events (Mad Hatter Dinner/Silent Auction, Walk in Their Shoes, volunteer appreciation events, workshops and other projects as needed.
